For young people with asperger syndrome age 11-19

Impact is a new project run by Action for ASD and is aimed at providing practical and emotional support for young people with Aspergers Syndrome.

The aims of the service are:

§ To provide social and leisure opportunities including youth clubs, sports activities such as skiing and swimming and trips out.

§ To provide emotional support, including advice about school, relationships, friendships, and behaviour management.

§ To provide advice and support to parents and families

§ To create relationships with various professional bodies in order to create a network of contacts and improve cohesion.

§ To raise the profile of Asperger Syndrome generally and improve understanding of the difficult circumstances faced by young people with AS.

So if you are between the ages of 11 and 19 or know someone who is, get in touch and find out more!!!. 01282 415455

The service is run by an experienced and friendly team of staff, headed by Ben Ponsonby; Project Manager.

Action for ASD, as a group are acutely aware of the day to day difficulties faced by young people with Asperger Syndrome and it is for this reason that the project has been commissioned.

We hope over time to eradicate the feelings of social isolation felt by many, and promote better independence and more fulfilling lives.

By bringing together young people with AS, we hope to create a safe environment where the members can form friendships, participate in pleasurable activities and access professional support and advice which is often crucial in encouraging development and independence.
